Where to meet: Meet us at the parking area adjacent to the Umtanum Recreation site. To get there from Seattle head East on I-90 towards Ellensburg, take exit 109 Ellensburg / Canyon Road, turn LEFT at the bottom of the off ramp and head South about 10 miles to the Umtanum recreation site. Our access is located near mile marker 16.
From Yakima head north on Highway 82/97 and take exit 26 onto Highway 821, also called Canyon Road. Travel north to milepost 16, our entrance is very close to the mile marker.
We are putting in near the Umtanum boat ramp and most trips will end at the Roza boat ramp. The trip is 8 miles, expect a 3-4 hour float. We fill up fast on the weekends so we recommend you make reservations.
Current conditions: The river level is great but the water is chilly, around 60 degrees. As the weather really heats up the water feels refreshing. Currently the trip takes about 3 hours.
