What to Expect:

We try to take all the guesswork out of getting on the river.  We provide a map of the river, shuttle to the put-in, coolers, dry bags, life vests, and even offer some items you may have forgotten, like cameras, sun block, and water.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure for check in.

There is some hiking involved:

To the right is a photo of the short trail down to the river from the Icicle Road Bridge put-in.  You will have to carry your tubes, cooler, dry bag, and other items down to the river.  Good footwear such as river sandals or athletic shoes are highly recommended for any walking on the beach.

We have an alternate beach near this trail that is easier for people with mobility issues.  Now everyone can have access, including those with special needs.  We don't have a lift on our bus, but our driver and an attendant can assist with almost any special need for transportation.  Leavenworth Shuttle & Taxi has a minivan with a wheel chair ramp and we will offer a complimentary ride to the put in for someone with wheels.  We'll then transport your wheels to the take out.

During the trip you can expect mostly calm and peaceful waters with beautiful views.  The water comes right out of the mountains and can be cold.  It is very refreshing on a hot day.  It is also moderately swift.  You do need to watch for obstructions and paddle with your hands to avoid bumping rocks, logs, and branches.

Generally the weather is hot and sunny.  Sometimes it even tops 100 degrees!  Some days do have high clouds, but it is still hot enough to enjoy the river.

In the late summer the evenings begin to cool off around 6 pm, so we recommend an earlier start to your trip, before 2 pm.

You'll see others enjoying a float, swimming at the beaches, and walking along the riverfront trail.

Some hazards exist, such as these logs in the photo on the right.  We float during the late summer when the water levels are low, which gives you plenty of time to paddle away from these kinds of obstructions.

Trips generally range from 2-4 hours depending on how many times you stop to play.  We use the Fish Hatchery put-in early season and the Icicle Road put-in late season when the water gets lower.  We offer different stretches of river in different areas or based on water levels.

Finally, you'll end your trip at the Leavenworth City Park boat ramp,

At the end of the trip we have a trash can handy for cleaning out your cooler.  You'll have to rinse your tube in the river and carry it a short distance to our trailer or tarp.

The trip ends right where you met us so your car is close.  Bring a towel and a bag for wet sandy clothes.  We have portable toilets at the end.

EARLY SEASON CONDITIONS

This year's above average snowpack and cool spring have kept a lot of snow in the mountains and the river is higher than it has been in recent years.  We monitor the river daily and will open when the water level reaches 10,000 CFS or lower.  If the river is too swift it can push you into the branches and flip you off your tube.  We will begin our season floating on the Icicle River and end on the Wenatchee.  The river is a medium speed, there are few if any waves, and the river  temperature is hovering around 50 degrees.  Our tubes will keep you mostly out of the water with the hammock seat and backrest, and our paddles will keep your hands out of the water.

(The outside temperature is typically  90 degrees or hotter, so cold water is OK)

If you have called other rafting companies about tubing and they say the water is too high, just remember, they want to book you into a rafting trip.  We float the mildest and calmest sections of the Wenatchee River,  right through Leavenworth, from Cashmere to Monitor, Lake Wenatchee to Plain, or KOA to Peshastin.  The biggest hazards are usually the kids or friends you bring who want to squirt you with a water gun!

all prices include city, state, or federal taxes as applicable to each location.
